Cobden District Public School's Fun Fair. In addition to games, barbecue, plant table, talent show and community social time, we are offering an opportunity for vendors to showcase their products, or yard sale items.  Tables are $20 each.

COBDEN CRUISERS, local car enthusiasts, will be at the Country Kitchen Restaurant just east of Cobden to show off their pride and joy and enjoy an excellent meal at the restaurant.  Hot rods show up, restorations, modifieds and interesting newer cars.  The Cruise-in is held every second Thursday.  Drop in, enjoy the cars and have a snack in the restaurant.

This is a fundraising event for the Canadian Cancer Society. The 3rd Annual Git'er Done Mud Run is a 6k, obstacle mud run taking place at the world famous Wilderness Tours resort on the Ottawa River. Once you fight your way through the obstacles and mud and you've completed the run, you have the option to take on a range of extreme challenges at Wilderness Tours, for a special rate, and even stay the night on site. Stay for the day. Stay for the weekend! It’s a mud run that meets some of the wildest water in North America. And we know you can Git ‘Er Done for a great cause!

The Cobden Farmers Market is open every Saturday morning from 8am until Noon
at the Cobden Fairgrounds.
You will find fresh garden and farm produce, (in season) home baking and unique crafts being offered.  Refreshments are available, drinks, full breakfasts or a lunch! 
All customers are welcome to fill out a ballot which may win a $20 voucher to be used at the Market.  You do not have to be present for the 11am draw.   Make a morning of it!!

Some of you know him as Arborist Tree Service, others as a Fire Fighter from Station 4 (Beachburg) and others as a whitewater kayaker. But to us he is a great Family man, caring and devoted Father, of two small kids. He is in a fight, we need your support. A fund raiser is planned to help Billy and his family while they deal with his cancer. Spring Tea, 2 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, May 27th  at the Westmeath Community Hall. The theme is “Celebration of Spring”.
There will be a silent auction.  If you (or your business) have an article to contribute, please contact Linda Bromley at 613-587 4568 or Judy Hunter at 613-582-3719.  Items can also be dropped off at the hall on Sat. May 26th between 10 a.m. and 2p.m. 
The proceeds from this silent auction are in support of Hospice Renfrew.
Tickets ($15) are available from most members of the Riverview Seniors Social Club.

The Beachburg Lions Club holds a Weekly Bingo in the Lion's Club Hall.  Doors open at 6PM. This is a chip bingo, no dauber required. There are 15 regular games and 6 specials. The jackpot starts at 50 numbers and the numbers go up each week until a bingo is won. Jackpot prize is $250. Consolation prize is $25.

CATCH THE ACE progressive raffle lottery is dependent on ticket sales.  There is a weekly cash prize plus a chance to win the main jackpot.  A draw is made at 7pm every Wednesday evening in the Legion club room.  Tickets are only $5.00 at the Legion and can be purchased daily during regular Legion hours.  
May 23, a ticket belonging to Kent McLaughlin was selected, Kent did not find the
Ace of Spades but won $36 for having his ticket selected.  Next draw, May 30 with a $1500 Jackpot.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police Musical Ride.
A Canadian tradition since 1876, a troop of 32 scarlet coated “Mounties” on majestic black horses present a 30 minute show of intricate figures and cavalry drills choreographed to music.
Take advantage of this truly Canadian experience and see one of our national treasures perform live at The Beachburg Fair Grounds on June 2, 2018. Pre-Show at 4:30 p.m. | Musical Ride at 5:00 p.m.

Pot Luck Lunch and Games meeting of the Cobden & District Seniors Club will take place in the Community Room, lower level of the Whitewater Region Municipal Office on the Main Street in Cobden.  Entrance to the building and parking is from the rear of the building.
Renfrew County Paramedics will be present to carry out Wellness Assessments consisting of checking your blood pressure, blood oxygen levels, glucose levels, pulse rate and answer questions.
                                                  Everyone 55 and over is welcome!!

Drop in Bereavement Support Group at Renfrew Public Library (Basement Program Room).  This Renfrew Hospice monthly peer support drop in program provides an immediate opportunity to connect and share with others who are journeying through the wilderness of grief. A peer support group, for all losses, is facilitated by trained volunteers who have also experienced grief and loss.  There is no cost to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
